Frequently Asked Questions

How do you stop body aches after traveling?

Getting chiropractic adjustments before and after traveling is a good way to keep your body moving and prevent aches and pains.

How do you travel with chronic pain?

If you have chronic pain, it is important to keep moving during traveling. Find moments where you can stretch for just a couple of minutes or take a short walk. These efforts can help alleviate chronic pain while you are traveling.

Does traveling affect your body?

Traveling can be hard on your body. Sitting for prolonged periods of time and sleeping in new beds with new pillows can affect how your body feels. This is why getting chiropractic care before and after traveling is important.

Is traveling a lot healthy?

Traveling can be very healthy. Learning about new foods and new cultures is a healthy thing.

What Is Travelitis?

Now, that's a little term that I use at my office when patients are going traveling or just came back from traveling because it's pretty standard for people when we're in airplane seats, traveling long distances in cars to get to the airport, sleeping in strange beds, whatever it is, our bodies just as we get older don't respond as well to traveling.

It is hard on us.

So, if you're experiencing neck pain, upper back pain, or lower back pain after traveling, you're not alone.

What I do with my patients is I tell them because there's a lot of sedentary time when you're traveling.

If you're on an airplane for hours, sitting in an airport, sitting in a car, getting to the airport, make sure you're building in.

If you're waiting at the airport, just walk, get some movement, and do some stretching.

My kids always joke with me because I look like the weird guy at the airport. I'll do stretches, walk around, and try to keep moving.

Prevent Flare-Up

I'm trying to prevent myself from flaring up once we get somewhere, and it's widespread.

People get these flare-ups when they travel, and it sucks because it takes away from your ability to enjoy that vacation time.

So, a good rule of thumb with the patients in my office is I tell them that if they have a trip coming up, they want to get adjusted right before that trip.

Especially if you're having any flare-ups already, you should be getting adjusted a couple of times before you travel.

When you get home, we need to see you to prevent any unnecessary flare-ups caused by traveling.

So, if you get these types of symptoms, whether neck pain, upper back pain, or lower back pain, many different things go with traveling.

We're happy to help and care for you during those times.
