Protect Your Back While Gardening
MARCH 8, 2022
Hello everyone, it's Dr. Aaron Seaton with The Chiropractic Place. Today's video is about gardening and your spine. We are starting to see it, it's getting into March now, and we're starting to see a lot of people who are doing yard clean up, brush clearing, burning, stuff like that, getting ready for springtime, so we're starting to see more of these injuries. I thought kind of important time to do a video since this is going on in our community right now. We see a lot of overuse injuries, people repetitively bending, lifting or reaching to clear brush or get the yard ready. This is really common this time of year, and in April, we start seeing a lot of these gardening landscaping-related injuries for people.
Typically, we see most common what I'm seeing is some form of low back pain on one side or the other, a lot of times, they'll come in leaning over usually, this is an indication of a sprain strain in the pelvis, this absolutely responds to chiropractic care. It's a great thing to get in if you start noticing this and not wait, don't let that injury just kind of fester, it's better to get in sooner than later and get you back on the track to health. Upper back pain is also really common this time of year with all the gardening and landscape people do.
People are pruning things, they're reaching, and they start noticing this lower neck, upper back stuff, again, something that responds really well to chiropractic care, keeping your spine tuned up while you're doing this stuff at your house and being prepared, so you're not laid out for a couple of days. And again, like I said, overuse, a lot of times people aren't used to doing a lot of this physical labor and their body, it just kind of gets this repetitive style injury, so if you notice any changes in your spine during this gardening and landscaping season as we're moving into spring, don't hesitate to give our office a call, we'll be happy to sit down with you, talk about what's going on and let you know what your care recommendations are. I'm Dr. Aaron Seaton with The Chiropractic Place.
