Hello everybody. It's Dr. Aaron Seaton with the The Chiropractic Place here in Redding, California. Shooting another video. I was just kind of brainstorming this one, and I realized that there are just so many benefits to ongoing chiropractic care, and I just wanted to share those top five benefits that I hear about all the time from my patients. So today's video is about the five benefits of chiropractic care. Number one, less pain. Obviously, a lot of people will come here with neck pain, back pain, and headaches. There's not a day that goes by that somebody doesn't get up with instantaneous relief, not everybody gets that, but the vast majority of our patients who come in are leaving with less pain. So think about that, you mean... The instant changes to your body when you're receiving a chiropractic adjustment, that's how powerful chiropractic is for your overall health and well-being. The second thing is a better range of motion. I hear it every week, "Doc, I couldn't turn and look over my shoulder, I was getting really nervous, I wanted to get in, get adjusted," and when they leave, instantly better, they're like, "Oh my God, that's a miracle doc. That's amazing." And that's simply because we're restoring proper motion back to the joints in your spine so that your body can take over and properly move and not be stuck in that position.

Number three, again, is probably the most common thing I hear from patients who are either new to chiropractic care or haven't been to the chiropractor in years. This is something that I hear all the time, "Doc, I haven't had that good of a night of sleep in a long, long-time." Chiropractic adjustments can impact your sleep-wake cycles. Right, the spine protects your nerve system. Your nerve system governs everything your body does. Not some of it, not most of it, all of it. Every single thing in your body that's going on is regulated through your nerve system. So when you get a chiropractic adjustment, it profoundly impacts your body's functions. In this case, we see a lot of improvement in people's sleep-wake cycles when they get their regular chiropractic care. Number four boosted the immune system. Chiropractic care, they've done studies on patients receiving chiropractic care, and they've checked their T cells, which are immune cells. T cells 30 minutes after, an hour after, and they see a steady rise in those T cells when people are getting adjusted. So chiropractic care boosts the function of your immune system. We could all benefit from that regularly. That's a great thing for us to have.

Just improve our defenses, keep us strong, and that's a great benefit to chiropractic care, kind of one of those unspoken benefits that a lot of people haven't heard about. Number five is preventing wear and tear. It's really important to get this concept because a lot of patients, they can kind of get on board up here, "Yeah, I wanna have less pain," but then they tend to forget about, hey, chiropractic should be an ongoing thing. Even if you're getting in once a month just to get your spine checked, you're going to prevent a lot of future wear and tear in your body. And let me explain why I bring that up, because symptoms make sense to a lot of people, right. You're feeling pain; you don't want to feel that pain. I get adjusted, and I feel better.

Okay, great, but if... When the pain leaves, you forget about chiropractic. That would be like going to the dentist only when you have a cavity, and they forget that you must brush your teeth or go in for regular cleanings. Your dentist doesn't want to see you that way or your chiropractor. Your chiropractors want you to understand that there is ongoing prevention that we're trying to do with your spine. Regular chiropractic care can prevent a lot of wear and tear. Think of it this way. Cancer can be in your body for two to three years before you have a symptom before you have a lump that could be going on for two to three years with no symptom. Arthritis can develop in your spine for seven to 15 years before it ever shows up on an X-ray in a lab or you experience pain. So why would we only care for your spine when you have pain? If we do that, we're missing the boat. We could be taking care of that along the way, preventing so much wear and tear and unnecessary pain and suffering, if we take care of it regularly.

So these are the top five benefits of chiropractic care. I'm Dr. Aaron Seaton with The Chiropractic Place.
