Frequently Asked Questions

How often should you get a chiropractic adjustment?

A person should be checked by a chiropractor at least once a month in order to maintain neurospinal health. If you’re beginning with chiropractic care, you may need more frequent visits in order to restore motion and balance to your spine.

What are the benefits of chiropractic care?

The benefits of chiropractic care include a better range of motion, less pain, improved sleep, a better functioning immune system, and prevention of wear and tear of the spine.

What exactly does a chiropractor do?

A chiropractor evaluates a person's neuro spinal health by using X-rays and a spinal examination. Then, the chiropractor determines the best course of care to help the patient.

Importance Of Ongoing Care

Now, most patients, when they first enter the office, have some type of complaint, maybe neck pain, headaches, or lower back pain.

There are a lot of different reasons patients come in.

Sometimes, we're their last hope.

They've seen many other doctors, including medical doctors, and they're looking for hope for whatever problem is ailing them.

When we go through the initial care, we help patients get better.

See The Quality Of Life Change

They see the quality of life changes and start to understand, wow, this impacts my overall health and wellbeing.

That's when we start having the conversation about ongoing care.

Now, I would rather prevent problems and maximize your health and well-being throughout your life than only see you when you have flare-ups.

I would calm those kinds of down and then not see you for months to years.

While some patients choose that route, which is fine, that is their choice.

I still like to talk to my patients about the absolute importance of ongoing care.

Most of us already understand this concerning health in some way, shape, or form.

We understand how to brush and floss our teeth consistently, right?

We understand the need for ongoing care to have proper dental health.

Most people can understand that to be healthy, you need to exercise consistently throughout your life.

That's ongoing care with respect to exercise.

If we want to improve our diet, we know that we have to do that consistently throughout our lives if we want it to have a lasting effect.

Chiropractic care, ongoing chiropractic care, is no different.

Most of the time, our patients begin to understand this after they've completed a course of care.

Health Improvements

They've seen improvements in their health, quality of life, function, and flexibility, and that's when we have this conversation.

Most of my patients come in regularly, anywhere from once a week to once a month, depending on the person and the circumstances.

I get checked about once a week because I want to maintain proper spinal health, and I feel the difference in how I function and how I feel when I'm under regular care.

And now, the big one is with this too.

I've been practicing for about 17 years, and I'm starting to see patients I've seen since the early 60s, who are now 80 and 85.

The conversations I have with those patients are very interesting.

These patients are reporting back to me, and they have been under ongoing care for close to 17 years.

Many of them are telling me, Aaron, we have got to get people in here regularly.

I am seeing the difference.

One of my patients is 80 years old, saying, I can still split wood, I'm working in the garden, I'm able to do these things, I'm able to travel.

I have been telling my friends to come in regularly for years, but they're not doing it, and he sees the difference in his health compared to their health.

And I'm hearing this from a lot of my older patients.

They're seeing a major difference in their functionality and quality of life versus their friends who are not under regular care.

When you have patients like that coming in and attributing this to the care they receive weekly, I'd be crazy not to share that with other patients.

See Your Chiropractor

It is very important to see your chiropractor, whether it's me or somebody else, on an ongoing basis because the difference starts showing up later in life, and it's showing up in a big way for many of my patients.

I'm Dr. Aaron Seaton with The Chiropractic Place.
